Agartala, April 02, 2026: Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) earmarked for the upcoming TTAADC polls arrived at Umakanta Ground in Agartala on Thursday under tight security arrangements.
The consignment, shipped from Madhya Pradesh with a high-security escort, was received by officials of the State Election Commission upon arrival. The machines were immediately placed under secure custody as per prescribed election protocols.
State Election Commission Secretary Anurag Sen confirmed that the process of completing mandatory administrative procedures is currently underway. He informed that technical teams have begun carrying out the required checks to ensure the machines are fully functional and compliant with Election Commission guidelines.
“All required protocols, including the first-level checking (FLC) verification, are being finalized. The EVMs will be dispatched to their respective district headquarters later today,” Sen said while speaking to the media.
The arrival of the EVMs marks a key step in the logistical preparations for the TTAADC elections, with authorities focusing on maintaining strict security and transparency throughout the process.
