Agartala, May 18, 2026: In a major development push for Dasda, one of North Tripura district’s Aspirational Blocks, the Empowered Committee of NITI Aayog has approved five key projects worth ₹2 crore under the Aspirational Blocks Programme.

The proposals were presented virtually by the District Magistrate and Collector of North Tripura district Chandni Chandran during a meeting of the committee.

The approved projects aim to address crucial areas such as rural livelihoods, sports infrastructure, early childhood care, digital education, and student welfare in Dasda Block.

Among the major initiatives is the establishment of an Akanksha Haat with an allocation of ₹40 lakh. The dedicated rural marketplace is expected to provide Self-Help Group (SHG) women with a platform to market and sell their products, thereby strengthening local livelihoods and entrepreneurship.

To encourage sports and youth development, the committee also approved ₹70 lakh for the construction of an Akanksha Indoor Sports Complex, which will provide modern indoor sports facilities for young people in the region.

In the education and child welfare sector, ₹40 lakh has been sanctioned for the electrification of 200 Anganwadi centres across the block, ensuring better infrastructure and improved services for children and mothers.

Further strengthening digital learning facilities, ₹20 lakh has been approved for providing computers and projectors to five schools in Dasda Block.

Additionally, ₹30 lakh has been allocated for the upgradation of facilities in four residential hostels to improve student accommodation and welfare.

Officials stated that the projects are designed to bridge critical developmental gaps at the grassroots level and collectively represent a focused investment in the future growth of Dasda Block.

The district administration and DM Chandni Chandran expressed gratitude to NITI Aayog and the Aspirational Blocks Programme for extending support and approving the projects, while emphasizing that implementation work on the ground will begin soon.
