Meghalaya and Telangana have initiated a collaborative effort to strengthen early childhood development through community-led welfare systems. In a recent high-level meeting, Meghalaya’s Social Welfare Advisor Paul Lyngdoh met with Telangana’s Minister for Women and Child Welfare, Danasari Anasuya Seethakka, to discuss strategies for advancing grassroots human development.
The discussions emphasized Meghalaya’s Early Childhood Development Mission, which has emerged as a national benchmark. Flagship programs such as the ECD Fellowship and the Human Development Leadership Initiative were presented as models that have demonstrated significant impact at the community level.
The Meghalaya delegation, which included Additional Chief Secretary P. Sampath Kumar and MECDM Chief Operating Officer Ronald Kynta, engaged with Telangana’s leadership on adapting these successful approaches across state lines. Both governments emphasized that the partnership represents a commitment to shared learning and the adoption of effective, people-driven solutions to support women and children.
By fostering this inter-state collaboration, Meghalaya and Telangana are signaling a future where human development initiatives are shaped and sustained by communities themselves, ensuring long-term benefits for families and children.
