Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday reflected on the outcome of the Assembly elections, noting that his earlier assessment of the BJP-led alliance’s performance had matched the final results. Sharing an old handwritten note on social media, Sarma said he had recorded his estimate immediately after voting concluded on April 9, as he has done in previous elections.

He remarked that with the declaration of results, the people of Assam had bestowed “unprecedented blessings,” creating what he described as a new chapter in the state’s political history.
The official tally confirmed a decisive victory for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which crossed the 100-seat mark in the 126-member Assam Assembly, securing a clear mandate to continue in power.
