Nagaland: Assam Rifles Transfers 18.8 Acres For Dimapur Airport Expansion

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has formally taken over 18.8 acres of land from the Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S) at 3rd Mile, Chumoukedima for the Phase-One expansion of Dimapur Airport.

A joint handing over and taking over programme was held on Thursday, with officials from AAI, Assam Rifles, the Transport Department, and the district administration in attendance.

Among those present were APD of Dimapur Airport Moa Pongen, Commandant K.D. Sharma of No. 2 Battalion ARTC&S, Secretary of AIR Cell Transport Department Sentiwapang Aier, Deputy Commissioner of Chumoukedima Polan John, and OSD Transport Department M. Ababe Ezung, along with other officials.

As part of the programme, officials jointly inspected the identified land before completing the formal transfer process.

Discussions were also held on the remaining land under ARTC&S for the proposed Phase-Two expansion of the airport. Officials noted that further approval from the competent authorities would be required before any decision is taken on the transfer of additional land.
