Imphal, May 20: Amid the continuing ethnic unrest in Manipur, the state government has reiterated its commitment to sustainable development, inclusive growth and the restoration of lasting peace across the state.

More than 260 people have been killed in Manipur since ethnic violence erupted in May 2023, leading to widespread displacement and instability in several districts.

Against this backdrop, Yumnam Khemchand Singh held a meeting at the Secretariat with Ram Muivah and village chiefs of Sanakeithel in Wednesday.

Discussions centred on ensuring lasting peace and stability in the area, while a memorandum was also submitted by the delegation.

The meeting further focused on development and infrastructure initiatives for the welfare of the people, with improved security arrangements reportedly helping restore normalcy in Sanakeithel.
