Security Forces Recover Arms And IEDs; Three Drug-Related Arrests Made In Manipur

Security forces on May 20, 2026 recovered a cache of arms, communication equipment and explosives from the general area between Border Pillars No. 72 and 73 under Moreh Police Station in Tengnoupal district. The recovered items included one SLR rifle, one 9 mm pistol with magazine, four radio sets, one radio set charger and four improvised explosive devices (IEDs), which were destroyed in situ.

On the same day, Manipur Police arrested two persons, including a Myanmar national, from Singngat along NH-102B under Singngat Police Station in Churachandpur district. The arrested individuals were identified as Khupsiankhai Vualnam (31) of Phaimual Village, Myanmar, and Doukhanlal Thangsing (34) of Suangdai Village, Churachandpur district.

Police seized one Kenbo bike and 55 soap cases containing suspected brown sugar weighing approximately 2.127 kg from their possession.

In another operation, Manipur Police arrested two persons during frisking and checking at the Irilbung Police Station check gate in Imphal East district. The arrested persons were identified as Yambem Sudhir Singh alias Sadananda (20) of Lourembam Mamang Leikai, Thoubal district, and Thongam Bishal Singh alias Amujao (26) of Taobungkhok Makha Leikai in Imphal West district. Police seized suspected raw ganja weighing around 3.3 kg from their possession.
