Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday joined the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive at Government Secondary School, Chimpu, organised by BJP Arunachal Pradesh in collaboration with the State Minority Morcha.

Thanking participants, Khandu said, “A big thank you to the people of Chimpu, BJP karyakartas, students, volunteers and everyone who participated.”

The Chief Minister stressed that tree plantation should go beyond symbolic gestures. “Planting trees is not something we do once a year and forget. It must become a lifelong mission. Every tree we plant today will give cleaner air, a healthier environment and a better future for our children tomorrow,” he said.

Linking the campaign to the Centre’s tenure, Khandu added, “As the nation celebrates 12 years of transformative leadership and service under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this campaign reminds us that development and environmental responsibility must go hand in hand.”

The Chimpu event saw participation from local residents, BJP workers, students, and volunteers who planted saplings on the school premises.
