Although an official confirmation is awaited, sources indicate that Assam may host a high-level India–Japan summit, a development that the state government has welcomed as a reflection of its growing role in international diplomacy and cooperation.
The anticipated visit is set to take place under the framework of India–Japan “shuttle diplomacy,” which Emphasizes reciprocal summit-level exchanges between the two nations. Prime Minister Takaichi and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are expected to engage in wide-ranging discussions covering economic collaboration, infrastructure expansion, semiconductor manufacturing, critical minerals, energy security, and regional strategic cooperation. Assam’s emergence as a hub for industrial growth, particularly in the semiconductor sector, is believed to have influenced the choice of venue.
