Agartala, June 11, 2026: A sense of shock and concern has gripped the campus of Tripura Santiniketan Medical College following the mysterious death of a hostel warden at the girls’ hostel on Thursday.

According to reports, the warden Manisha Das (24) was found dead on the third floor of the hostel building under circumstances that have raised several questions. Soon after receiving information about the incident, personnel from Amtali Police Station rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation.

Police sources said that the exact cause of death remains unclear at this stage. Investigators are examining all possible angles and collecting evidence from the scene to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As part of the preliminary investigation, one individual has reportedly been detained for questioning. However, police have not officially disclosed the identity of the person or clarified the nature of their alleged connection to the case.

The deceased’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination. Investigating officers stated that the findings of the autopsy are expected to provide crucial clues regarding the cause of death and help determine whether any foul play was involved.

The incident has created an atmosphere of tension and anxiety among students and staff within the medical college premises. Police officials have urged the public not to speculate and emphasized that no conclusions can be drawn until the investigation and post-mortem examination are completed.
