In an attempt to assess the destruction caused by natural calamities along the northeastern state of Sikkim, the Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Sunday met with the Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT) under the Union Home Ministry at his official residence in Mintokgang.
Led by the Joint Secretary of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Kunal Satyarthi, the IMCT team took stock of massive destruction of human property which emerged due to environmental catastrophe.
According to IPR report, the Chief Minister expressed his happiness on the constitution of this team and said that he looked forward to more support from the Ministry. He also appreciated the dedication of the team members who spared their precious time to travel all the districts of the state in order to lend a helping hand to the affected.
Furthermore, the Relief Commissioner cum Secretary, Land Revenue & Disaster Management Department, Government Of Sikkim, Ms. Sarala Rai assured to submit the final memorandum to the Ministry within a period of 10 days as per the guidelines of NDMA.
