Sikkim: President – Droupadi Murmu Visits ‘Siddheswara Dham’ In Namchi

The President of India – Droupadi Murmu, arrived at the VIP guest house at Siddheswara Dham in the morning after her chopper landed at Namchi Helipad.

The President was accompanied by the Governor of Sikkim – Ganga Prasad. On arrival at Siddheswara Dham, the President received a warm welcome by the Chief Minister – Prem Singh Tamang, his spouse – Krishna Rai, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary (CS), Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Director General of Police (DGP), Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), and other state officials.

The President and the entourage visited the Siddheswara Dham on Solophok Hill, about five kilometres from Namchi. The ‘Rudra Avhishek Puja’ was performed by the priests at the Shiv Mandir.

Following the Puja, the President visited the stalls set up by the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) under the Skill Development Department, Department of Women and Child Development, and Rural Development Department.

She further interacted with 26 members of the Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and women entrepreneurs of Sikkim. The President visited exhibitions consisting of demonstration stalls of Raddi/Lukuni weaving, Thanka Painting, Carpet and Handloom Weaving, etc.

During her two-day visit to the state, Murmu virtually inaugurated/laid the foundation stone for various projects under education, health, road infrastructure and tourism at Manan Kendra in Gangtok on Friday.
