In a significant crackdown, Manipur Police arrested two active cadres of the proscribed outfit KCP MC (Progressive) in Imphal East. The individuals, identified as Nongmaithem Rohit Singh (23) and Ronaldo Laishram (21), were involved in extortion activities, according to authorities.
In a separate operation, police apprehended three members of an armed gang in Lilong Chajing, Imphal West District. The suspects, identified as Athokpam Digson Singh (24), Maibam Suresh Singh (29), and Chanambam Naotomba Singh (21), were found in possession of a 5.56mm INSAS LMG with an empty magazine, a 5.56mm INSAS Rifle with an empty magazine, a .32 pistol with one live round, three mobile handsets, a four-wheeler vehicle, and various miscellaneous items.
The arrests mark a significant success in the state’s ongoing efforts to curb criminal activities and maintain law and order.
