Residents of K. Luingwairam Naga Village imposed a total shutdown in the Makhan Village area following violence allegedly carried out by individuals from Munlai Kuki Village. The shutdown was triggered by reports of a Liangmai Naga woman being assaulted and the destruction of property, including a Children’s Orphan Home and a residential house in K. Luingwairam Village.

Naga community members expressed their outrage by blocking roads and halting all activities as part of the protest. In response, the Liangmai Naga Council Eastern Zone Manipur strongly condemned the violence and demanded swift action against the perpetrators. They issued an ultimatum, urging authorities to ensure justice within 24 hours.

The council warned of further steps to protect Naga communities if their demands are not met, hinting at potential retaliation against unaddressed aggression. They emphasized the need for accountability to prevent further escalation.
