The arrival of the electric train generated widespread excitement among residents of Sabroom and nearby areas. A large number of locals, passengers, and railway enthusiasts gathered at the station to witness the historic moment, creating a festive atmosphere.

According to railway sources, the trial run was conducted to evaluate the preparedness for introducing regular electric train services in the North-East. The exercise assessed key aspects such as track infrastructure, overhead electric systems, and overall operational feasibility.

Officials stated that a detailed report based on the trial data and technical observations will be submitted to higher authorities. Further decisions regarding the commencement of regular services will be taken after a thorough review.

Such a development is expected to provide commuters with a faster, more comfortable, and cost-effective mode of transport while also promoting eco-friendly travel and reducing fuel dependency.

The loco pilot and railway personnel involved in the trial expressed satisfaction with the train’s performance, noting that the initial run was smooth and met operational expectations.

Meanwhile, residents of Sabroom and South Tripura have welcomed the initiative, expressing optimism that regular electric train services will significantly improve connectivity with other parts of the state. Locals believe the development will positively impact trade, commerce, education, and tourism in the region.

Subject to approval from railway authorities, the successful trial run is seen as a crucial step towards the introduction of regular electric train services in Tripura in the near future.
