Kohima, Feb 5: In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, the Nagaland Police has seized drugs worth ₹10-15 crore in the last couple of weeks, registering seven cases.
According to Inspector General of Police (CID) Vikram Khalete, the police have been making significant strides in their “War against Drugs” initiative. In 2024, a total of 199 cases were registered, and 343 individuals were arrested in connection with drug-related offenses.
Khalete emphasized that the drug trafficking network extends beyond Nagaland, with links to neighboring states, particularly Assam, and other parts of India. He urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information related to the sale or distribution of narcotics, drugs, or illegal substances, assuring that the identity of informants would be kept confidential.
