Kohima, Feb 28: The Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) convened an emergency meeting on February 26 at its head office conference hall in Kohima, with office bearers, district representatives, and community members in attendance.
During the meeting, the union reaffirmed its commitment to the resolution of “One Government, One Tax” and urged its members to report any taxation-related issues or external demands to the NCSU head office.
The NCSU also called for the immediate removal of government officials and engineers holding Class-I contractor registrations with the Nagaland Public Works Department (NPWD), stating that such registrations are illegal and punishable under the law. Additionally, the union urged the state government to ensure transparency by publishing work programmes for all departments for the financial year 2025-26.
Furthermore, the union directed its district units to conduct on-the-spot verifications of PMGSY-III projects for 2023-24 and submit detailed reports to the NCSU head office by March 13, 2025, for further action.
