11th Assam Rifles Battalion Receives Governor’s Citation For Counter-Insurgency Efforts In Arunachal

Itanagar, Dec 16: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik on Monday commended the 11th Battalion of the Assam Rifles for its professionalism in counter-insurgency operations and its support to civil administration and local communities.

The Governor presented the Governor’s Citation to the battalion at a ceremony held at Lok Bhavan, where Commandant Colonel Vivek Tripathi, Subedar Major Lekh Raj, and Rifleman G D Neelesh Kumar received the honour on behalf of the unit.

Parnaik said the battalion’s sustained vigilance and security measures have contributed to maintaining peace and stability in the area, helping build public confidence and enabling development. He also noted the role of the Assam Rifles in promoting trust and coordination between security forces and local communities.

Congratulating the personnel on behalf of the people of Arunachal Pradesh, the Governor expressed confidence in the battalion’s continued commitment to its duties.
