Arunachal CM Pema Khandu Reviews Progress Of BRO Road Projects In Tawang

Itanagar, Dec 13: Chief Minister Pema Khandu met Director General of Border Roads Lt Gen Raghu Srinivasan to review the progress of key Border Roads Organisation (BRO) projects in the strategically important Tawang sector.

During the meeting, the chief minister held a detailed review of ongoing road works and discussed ground-level challenges affecting project execution in the high-altitude border district. Tawang Deputy Commissioner Namgyal Angmo was also present at the interaction.

In a post on X, Khandu described the meeting as a productive interaction and highlighted the role of the BRO in strengthening national security and improving connectivity in border areas. He noted that the organisation continues to work in difficult terrain and weather conditions.

The chief minister stressed the need for timely completion of road connectivity projects to support strategic preparedness and civilian movement. Officials said improved infrastructure in border regions such as Tawang is important for defence logistics, disaster response, and local economic activities, including tourism and trade.
