Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Wednesday reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to safeguarding consumer rights and ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability in the marketplace on the occasion of National Consumer Rights Day.
In a post on X, Mein said the government remains focused on protecting the rights of consumers and strengthening mechanisms that promote transparent and accountable market practices. He underlined that consumer protection is central to good governance and economic stability.
Emphasising the importance of public awareness, Mein stated that informed and empowered consumers play a vital role in building a strong economy. He added that the government is prioritising the expansion of consumer education initiatives and the strengthening of grievance redressal systems across Arunachal Pradesh.
The deputy chief minister also reiterated the government’s continued commitment to protecting the interests of all citizens in the state.
National Consumer Rights Day is observed annually on December 24 to mark the enactment of the Consumer Protection Act, which guarantees key consumer rights such as safety, information, choice, and redressal.
