Arunachal Pradesh inaugurated its first commercial coal mining project at the Namchik-Namphuk Central Coal Block in Longtom, Kharsang Sub-Division, during a Bhoomi Pujan-cum-Inauguration ceremony. The event was attended by Union Minister of Coal & Mines G. Kishan Reddy and Chief Minister Pema Khandu.
Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy flagged off the tools and machinery of Coal Pulz Pvt. Ltd. (CPPL) to commence mining operations. He also planted a sapling as part of the “100 Tree Plantation” drive, highlighting the Ministry’s focus on environmental sustainability.
The Minister was received by Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and other dignitaries on his arrival at Kharsang. Chief Minister Pema Khandu said the project, expected to generate around Rs 100 crore annually, will contribute to the state exchequer, create local jobs, and promote economic activity in the region.
