Itanagar, Feb 7: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday welcomed the India-US interim trade framework, saying it will strengthen the competitiveness of Indian businesses in global markets.
Khandu noted that the agreement will reduce compliance burdens, streamline export procedures, and lower costs for consumers. He highlighted the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the framework will make it easier and faster for Indian businesses to access global markets.
The Chief Minister said exporters would benefit from the removal of repetitive testing and certification, saving time and costs. Alignment of standards, he added, will further enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
Khandu also pointed out that the pact will ease trade pathways and reduce tariff barriers, supporting the integration of Indian digital products and technology components into global value chains. He said the agreement is expected to spur growth in sectors such as startups, artificial intelligence, electronics, SaaS, and fintech, generating high-quality employment for youth and strengthening India’s position as a global technology and digital innovation hub.
