Assam CM Invites PM Modi To Inaugurate Guwahati Airport Terminal, Lay Foundation For Namrup Fertiliser Plant

Guwahati, Nov 4: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Tuesday and invited him to inaugurate two key development projects in the state the new terminal building of Guwahati’s Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport and the Rs 10,601-crore Ammonia-Urea complex at Namrup.

The new airport terminal is designed to handle more than 1.3 crore passengers annually, significantly enhancing air connectivity and positioning Guwahati as a major aviation hub in the Northeast. The Namrup fertiliser project, a brownfield initiative, aims to boost fertiliser production and ensure a steady supply to farmers across the region.

Sarma said the Prime Minister’s visit, expected soon, would mark an important milestone in Assam’s infrastructure and industrial development. He also shared details of his meeting with Modi on social media, describing the projects as transformative for both Assam and the Northeast.
