In a significant step toward tribal empowerment, the ARHI NGO has joined hands with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, to support the Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan—touted as India’s largest tribal empowerment campaign. The initiative aims to uplift tribal communities by spreading awareness about government welfare schemes and ensuring their active participation in developmental programs.
As part of the campaign, ARHI conducted extensive outreach activities in tribal villages under the Amsoi region of Raha Block, Nagaon. Using an IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) van, the NGO announced key components of the PM Janman and Dharti Aaba Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan schemes. Pamphlets detailing various government initiatives were distributed among villagers, encouraging them to take part in the campaign.
A special awareness meeting was organized in Geragarh village, where tribal communities were educated about multiple development schemes available to them under different ministries. The session focused on bridging the gap between government policies and grassroots implementation, ensuring that benefits reach the intended beneficiaries.
Officials from ARHI emphasized the importance of such campaigns in empowering tribal populations through education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities. “Our collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs is a step toward inclusive growth, ensuring that no tribal family is left behind in India’s development journey,” said a representative from the NGO.
The Dharti Aaba Janbhagidari Abhiyan is expected to cover thousands of tribal villages across the country, with ARHI playing a pivotal role in mobilizing communities in Assam. The campaign has been widely welcomed by local tribal leaders, who see it as a transformative initiative for long-term socio-economic progress.
With continued efforts in awareness drives and community engagement, the partnership aims to create a sustainable impact, enabling tribal populations to harness the benefits of government schemes effectively.
