Agartala, May 05, 2026: Members of the District Council (MDCs) belonging to the TIPRA Motha Party on Monday reached a consensus on key leadership positions for the upcoming term of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), party sources informed.

The meeting was held at Rajbari, located within Ujjayanta Palace in Agartala, and was chaired virtually by party founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma.

Sources stated that the MDCs unanimously proposed Bhabha Ranjan Reang for the post of Chairman, Runeil Debbarma as Chief Executive Member (CEM), and C K Jamatia as Executive Member (EM) for the new council term.

The meeting was attended by state minister Brishaketu Debbarma, along with MLAs Ranjit Debbarma and Biswajit Kalai. They extended their best wishes to the proposed leadership and expressed optimism regarding the continuity of governance and development work in the TTAADC-administered areas.

Officials confirmed that elections for the posts of Chairman and Chief Executive Member will be conducted on May 5 at the TTAADC Council Bhavan in Khumulwng. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for May 6 at Nuai Auditorium Hall, also in Khumulwng.

The TTAADC, constituted under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution, functions as an autonomous administrative body responsible for governance and development in the tribal regions of Tripura.

No immediate reaction was received from opposition parties regarding the development.
