Agartala, May 14, 2026: A high-level border inspection and coordination meeting was conducted on Wednesday by North Tripura Superintendent of Police Avinash Rai and Commandant of the 97th Battalion BSF Rajeshwar Raipuria to review security arrangements and strengthen coordination along the Indo-Bangladesh border in North Tripura district.
Accompanied by senior officials and personnel from the North Tripura District Police and the Border Security Force (BSF), the officers inspected the Yakub Nagar and Ranibari Border Outposts under the jurisdiction of the 97th Battalion BSF.

During the joint inspection, detailed discussions were held on a range of important security-related issues concerning both forces. The meeting focused on maintaining the prevailing law and order situation in the border areas and enhancing surveillance through regular joint patrolling by the Tripura Police and the BSF.
The officers also discussed measures to further strengthen security arrangements along the international border and intensify efforts to curb infiltration, smuggling, and other cross-border crimes. Emphasis was laid on improving intelligence sharing and reinforcing mutual coordination between the two forces for more effective border management.
Reaffirming their commitment to ensuring peace and security in the district, the North Tripura District Police and the BSF pledged to continue working in close coordination to safeguard the border and build a crime-free district.
