Agartala, May 12, 2025: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in West Tripura and Khowai districts on May 13, followed by a similar alert for Khowai and North Tripura districts on May 14. Additionally, a yellow alert has been declared for all remaining districts in the state for the next five days.
An IMD official stated, “We are expecting significant rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. Residents should exercise caution and remain updated on weather advisories.”
Meanwhile, Tripura experienced cloudy skies today with the maximum temperature recorded at 38.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 22 degrees Celsius. The morning temperatures across all districts remained close to normal.

According to recorded data, Agartala received 32.2 mm of rainfall, while AD Nagar recorded 37 mm and Bodhjungnagar saw 46.5 mm. Rainfall at the *DM Office was measured at 22 mm and Hawaibari recorded 19.3 mm.
In Khowai district, rainfall was significantly higher at 96.4 mm with Teliamura recording 65.5 mm. In Gomati district, Udaipur received 5.1 mm, while Amarpur saw 45.4 mm.
Rainfall figures in South Tripura district show Belonia at 52 mm and Sabroom at 69 mm. In North Tripura district, Panisagar recorded 32 mm, Kanchanpur 16.4 mm, Ashapara 55.5 mm, and Kadamtala 53.4 mm.
The IMD has advised residents in affected areas to prepare for intense showers and potential disruptions. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and may issue further updates as needed.
