Indo-Dutch Flower Project in Tripura Progressing Well: Tripura Minister Ratan Lal Nath

Agartala, February 7, 2026: Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath recently said that the Indo-Dutch Project at the Centre of Excellence for Flowers, Lembuchara, is progressing satisfactorily, following a detailed review meeting with a visiting Dutch expert delegation.

Speaking after a cordial meeting with Dr. Ton Bakker, a renowned expert from the Netherlands, and his team, the Minister said, “Dr. Ton Bakker and his team held a cordial meeting with me after arriving in Tripura in connection with a training programme under the Indo-Dutch Project. Their visit has been extremely encouraging for the state’s floriculture sector.”

The Dutch delegation is currently in Tripura to conduct a specialised training programme at the Centre of Excellence for Flowers, Lembuchara, aimed at enhancing technical knowledge and modern practices in floriculture.

After visiting the project site, the team expressed satisfaction over the ongoing activities and infrastructure development. “The team has appreciated the progress made so far and expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of the project,” Nath said.

During the meeting, the experts also briefed the Minister on the achievements recorded under the project and shared key technical insights to further strengthen its implementation. “They shared valuable suggestions and expert inputs that will help us take the project to the next level and benefit our farmers in a sustainable manner,” the Minister added.

Nath emphasized that the Indo-Dutch collaboration is playing a crucial role in modernising Tripura’s floriculture sector and opening up new livelihood opportunities for farmers through advanced training, technology transfer, and international cooperation.
