A man has been sentenced to imprisonment by a special court in Meghalaya’s East Jaintia Hills district for sexually assaulting a minor girl in 2021.
The conviction was delivered by Special Judge B Khriam of the POCSO Court, who found the accused guilty under Sections 8 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, which pertain to sexual assault and sexual harassment. The offence took place in Khliehriat.
