The 22nd edition of the Ningtham Shumang Leela Festival is scheduled to be held from December 28, 2025, to January 6, 2026, at the Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen in Imphal.

Organised by the Manipur State Shumang Leela Council, the festival aims to promote and preserve Manipur’s traditional courtyard theatre while providing a vibrant platform for Shumang Leela artists to showcase their talent.

Altogether, eight Shumang Leela groups from across the state will participate in the festival.

The participating groups are Peace Maker Artistes’ Association, Sangai Artistes’ Association, Time Star, Poklenpokpa, Lamjingba Artistes’ Association, Apunba Artists Association, Naharol Khonthang Artistes’ Association and Mami Artistes’ Association.

Entry to the festival will be free, enabling theatre enthusiasts and the general public to enjoy the performances without any charge.
