The Manipur Information Commission inaugurated the Right to Information (RTI) Week Celebration 2025 with an opening ceremony-cum-state level workshop held today at the Auditorium Hall of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Imphal.
The inaugural function was graced by Th. Satyabrata Singh, Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly, as the Chief Guest; Asem Bhakta Singh, President of the All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union, as the Guest of Honour; and Koijam Radhashyam Singh, State Chief Information Commissioner, as the President of the function.
RTI Week 2025, observed nationwide from October 5 to 12, aims to promote the RTI Act, 2005 and enhance public awareness on the significance of transparency and accountability in governance.
The programme was sponsored by the Department of Personnel and Training, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India, and organized by the Manipur Information Commission.
Officials, journalists, and representatives from various departments attended the event, marking the start of a week-long series of awareness campaigns, workshops, and activities on the Right to Information.
