Impahl, May 19: Security forces have intensified combing and search operations in the western hill ranges of Leilon Vaiphei Village in Kangpokpi district as part of ongoing efforts to rescue missing persons. Officials said the search operations are continuing in the area.

Meanwhile, on May 18, security forces recovered a cache of arms and ammunition from the foothill area between Lamdeng and Kameng Village under Lamsang Police Station in Imphal West district.

The recovered items included three bolt-action single barrel guns, one .22 pistol, four 9 mm pistols, one .22 pistol magazine, and four 9 mm pistol magazines.

The recovery was made during a search operation conducted in the area as part of intensified security measures across the state.
