Manipur: Search Operations Continue in Kangpokpi; PREPAK Cadre Arrested in Imphal East

Manipur, May 18: Security forces continued combing and search operations in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district as part of ongoing efforts to trace missing persons in the region.

According to official sources, search operations were conducted in the hill ranges located northwest of Leilon Vaiphei and Kharam Vaiphei villages. Authorities said the operations are still underway.

Meanwhile, Manipur Police continued its drive against motor vehicle offences across the state. Between May 11 and May 17, police issued 82 challans to traffic violators, collecting a total fine amount of Rs 1,12,500.

In a separate operation on May 17, security forces arrested an active cadre of People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), identified as Laishram Jivan Singh (38) of Langmeidong, from Khabam Lamkhai Makha Leikai under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district.
