Shillong, Dec 18: In a significant move, the Voice of the People’s Party (VPP) held an introductory public meeting to introduce its 29 MDC candidates for the upcoming election on February 21, 2025. The introduction was made by Dr. Kara H. Shen, Chairman of the VPP Disciplinary Committee, at a public meeting held at the Iawmusiang taxi stand.

The meeting was attended by President of VPP, Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit, and other party members. Notably, out of the 29 VPP MDC candidates, 4 are women.

President Basaiawmoit expressed confidence in the party’s presence in all areas and its efforts to educate the public on how to select candidates. He also trusted in the wisdom of the general public to make informed decisions.

The upcoming MDC election is significant, as it will determine the representatives for the various constituencies in the state. The election is scheduled to take place on February 21, 2025.
