The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has reaffirmed its support for the reservation of seats for women in State Legislatures and Parliament, while voicing strong concerns over the implications of proposed delimitation reforms. In a statement, the party emphasized that women’s reservation must be implemented in a fair and equitable manner, ensuring justice across all regions.

At the same time, the NPF expressed apprehension over reports of increasing Lok Sabha seats under delimitation, warning that such changes could disproportionately benefit high-population states while leaving Nagaland and other North Eastern states with little or no additional representation. The party cautioned that this imbalance would undermine the principle of equal representation and weaken the political voice of smaller states.

The NPF also criticized the silence of Nagaland’s two sitting Members of Parliament on the matter, stressing that it was their responsibility to safeguard the state’s interests and raise concerns in national forums. The party urged its representatives to take a firm stand to ensure that Nagaland’s position is not marginalized in the evolving political landscape.
