Nagaland: PMG Reviews Progress Of NHIDCL Highway Projects Along Kohima–Dimapur Corridor

Kohima, May 16: A Project Monitoring Group (PMG) meeting was held at the Office Chamber of the Deputy Commissioner, Kohima, to review the progress of ongoing highway projects under the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) along the Kohima–Dimapur corridor.

The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kohima, B. Henok Buchem, and attended by district administration officials, NHIDCL representatives, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.

Officials reviewed the package-wise implementation of the four-lane highway project as well as the progress of the Kohima bypass. According to NHIDCL officials, Package-One of the four-lane project has recorded 26 percent physical progress, while Package-Two stands at 43 percent. Package-Three has reached nearly 90 percent completion and is expected to be opened for traffic by July this year.

The meeting was also informed that tunnel construction works at multiple locations are progressing, with one major tunnel expected to be completed by December 2026.

Issues related to sinking zones, accident-prone stretches, land acquisition, and landslide mitigation measures along the Kohima–Mao Road were also discussed during the meeting.
