Kohima, April 29| Nagaland will conduct a civil defence air raid and blackout drill, “Operation Night Guard,” as part of the annual Nagaland Emergency Preparedness Exercise (NEPEx).

To facilitate the mock exercise, a temporary statewide power shutdown has been scheduled for April 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. across ten districts, including Dimapur, Kohima, Mokokchung, Wokha, Zunheboto, Mon, Phek, Tuensang, Peren and Kiphire.

The Power Department has appealed to residents to cooperate by switching off all lights, electrical appliances, inverters, and any other sources of illumination during the designated period. Power supply will be restored immediately after the siren is sounded at 6:45 p.m.

Authorities emphasized that the exercise is crucial for testing preparedness and ensuring public awareness in the event of emergencies.
