Agartala, May 06, 2026: The Annual Awards Ceremony of the North Eastern Region (NER) of the National Cadet Corps was organized with great enthusiasm at the Rhino Auditorium in Shillong on Tuesday.

Organised under the initiative of the Additional Directorate General (ADG), NCC NER, the event witnessed the presence of a large number of dignitaries, officers, and cadets from across the northeastern states. The ceremony celebrated excellence and outstanding contributions within the NCC during the 2025–2026 period.

A highlight of the programme was the conferment of the Best Male Associate NCC Officer (ANO) Award, which was awarded to Suraj Chakraborty from Agartala. He was honoured during a special felicitation segment for his exemplary service and dedication.

The award function was presided over by Anurag Vij, Additional Director General of NCC NER, who attended the event as the Chief Guest. In his address, he lauded the commitment and discipline of NCC officers and cadets across the region.

Among other distinguished attendees were Wailadmiki Shylla, Sports Minister of Meghalaya, and Anand Raj Singh, along with several ANOs representing different northeastern states.

The ceremony concluded on an inspiring note, reinforcing the NCC’s role in shaping youth through discipline, leadership, and national service.
