In a series of coordinated operations, security forces and Manipur Police apprehended several active cadres belonging to different proscribed outfits across Thoubal, Kakching, and Imphal East districts.

In the first operation, two active members of the UNLF (P) were arrested from Chongtham Kona area under Lilong Police Station, Thoubal district. The arrested individuals were identified as Chabungbam Arjun Singh alias Khoimu (50) of Mayang Imphal Konchak, Imphal West, and Md. Najir Khan alias Lion (41) of Irong Chesaba, Mayang Imphal, Kakching district. Both were reportedly involved in extortion and intimidation activities. A 9 mm pistol with a magazine loaded with five live rounds was recovered from their possession.

In a separate operation the same day, three active members of the KCP (Taibanganba) faction were arrested from Khongjom Bazar under Khongjom Police Station, Thoubal district. They were identified as Hijam Ngamba Meitei alias Nganba (38) of Kumbi Terakhong, Bishnupur; Nongthombam Amujao Singh (24) of Pukhao Naharup, Imphal East; and Kiyam Rajesh Singh alias Meira (41) of Wangoo Parking, Bishnupur district.

Another KCP (Taibanganba) cadre, Kangabam Gouro Meitei alias Ullen (45) of Yairipok Ngamukhong Litan Makhong, Imphal East, was also arrested from Pureiromba Khongnangkhong in Imphal East. The group was similarly engaged in extortion and coercive mediation between disputing parties.

Based on their disclosures, security forces recovered a cache of arms and incriminating materials from the foothills of Langthabal Khunou, including one .303 rifle with magazine, three SBBL (repeater) guns, three shotguns, three Gren. 80 MK-I grenades, five detonators, 30 cartridges, and multiple demand letters and seals belonging to the outfit.

In another operation, Manipur Police arrested a self-styled Sergeant of KCP (Taibanganba), identified as Meisnam Langamba Meitei (24) of Laingoubi Mayai Leikai under Kumbi Police Station, Bishnupur district, from Kakching Lamdong area under Kakching Police Station.
