Security Forces Recover Large Cache Of Arms, Arrest Two Individuals In Coordinated Operations Across Manipur

Security Forces carried out multiple successful operations across Manipur on December 3, 2025, recovering a significant cache of arms and explosives and arresting two individuals linked to insurgent activities.

In the first operation, conducted in the Loitang Sandum Hill Range under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West district, personnel recovered a .303 rifle with two magazines, a double-barrel gun, a single-barrel gun, and a 9 mm pistol with its magazine. The recovery also included a No. 36 high-explosive grenade without a detonator, 118 rounds of assorted ammunition, eight detonators, three tube-launching devices, eight magazines of various firearms, a .303 rifle foresight assembly, four BAOFENG handheld communication sets, a patka helmet, two bulletproof vests, and a bottle of cleaning oil.

In a separate operation at the foothills of Ngariyan Hill near Keirao Wangkhem, Security Forces recovered another set of weapons and explosive materials. The items seized included a 12-bore single-barrel gun, a 9 mm SMG carbine with its magazine, two No. 36 hand grenades, an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing approximately 2 kg, and a tear gas grenade.

On the same day, Security Forces arrested an active cadre of the KCP (Apunba) at Tera Urak checking point under Bishnupur Police Station. The arrested individual has been identified as Ahongshangbam Naoba Meitei, 25, of Kwaksiphai Maning Leikai in Bishnupur district.

In another incident, Manipur Police arrested Nongthombam Anilkumar Singh, alias Lemba, 36, of Bamon Kampu Mayai Leikai in Imphal East district. He was apprehended from Kongba Sougrakpam Leirak under Irilbung Police Station. A 9 mm pistol with its magazine, a mobile phone, and an Aadhaar card were seized from his possession.

The coordinated operations underscore the continued efforts of Security Forces to curb illegal arms movement and insurgent activities across the state.
