Sikkim Holds Road Safety Awareness Programme During Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026

Namchi, Jan 14: A Road Safety Awareness programme was organised as part of the Maghey Sankranti Mela 2026 to promote safe and responsible use of roads among the public.

Governor Om Prakash Mathur administered the Road Safety Pledge and, along with Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, flagged off a motorcycle rally emphasising responsible driving and pedestrian safety.

The programme was attended by the Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Cabinet Ministers, MLAs, Advisors, Chairpersons, senior government officers, and motorcycle riders from Sikkim and neighbouring states.

The initiative aimed to sensitise citizens to follow traffic rules strictly and foster a culture of road safety for the well-being of all road users.
