The Sikkim Transport Department has directed that all public transport vehicles in the state display the slogan “Be Kind to Animals” prominently.
The initiative, following a directive from the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), aims to raise awareness about compassion towards animals and aligns with Article 51A(g) of the Constitution, which encourages citizens to show kindness to all living beings.
Transport Secretary-cum-Commissioner Prabhakar said the move reflects the state’s commitment to promoting ethical and humane values in public life.
