Soreng, April 4: The first members of the Soreng Nagar Panchayat have been elected uncontested following the withdrawal of Ashok Pradhan of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) from Ward No. 02 Dara Bazar (UR).
Dhiraj Subedi, Municipal Returning Officer (MRO) and District Collector of Soreng, congratulated the candidates and handed over their Certificates of Election.
The elected members are:
Santi Kala Limbu: Ward 01 Singling (ST) (W), Sikkim Krantikari Morcha
Naren Subba: Ward 02 Dara Bazar (UR), Bharatiya Janata Party
Dina Hangma Subba: Ward 03 Soreng Bazar (ST) (W), Sikkim Krantikari Morcha
Dil Prasad Jogi: Ward 04 Pragati Chowk (OBC) (C), Sikkim Krantikari Morcha
Divya Subba: Ward 05 Daragaon (ST) (W), Sikkim Krantikari Morcha
These members will form the first elected body of the Soreng Nagar Panchayat.
