Manipur Police arrested six individuals on April 15 in connection with instigating and participating in a total shutdown along Kongba Road and Ayangpali area under Porompat Police Station in Imphal East district.

The arrested persons have been identified as Phairembam Arun Singh (44), Sagolshean Angou Meitei (23), Bachapatimayum Johnson Sharma (23), Maibam Telheiba Khuman (18), Peter (19) and Eduachube (19). Police also seized ten two-wheelers from their possession.

In a related development, two juveniles produced before the Executive Magistrate, Imphal East for curfew violation were later released after a fine of ₹5,000 each.

Meanwhile, on April 16, security forces apprehended an active cadre of the proscribed PREPAK (PRO) from Heirok Part-III under Heirok Police Station in Thoubal district. The arrested individual has been identified as Laishram Boicha Singh alias Chaiba (29) of Wangoo Chairel Makha Leikai, Kakching district. A mobile phone along with a SIM card was seized from his possession.
