Security forces neutralised three improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in situ along the Indo-Myanmar border near Border Pillars 72–73 during area domination and sanitisation operations on Monday.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, acting on specific inputs received from Delhi Police, Manipur Police carried out a coordinated operation against an inter-state vehicle theft racket. With the assistance of ICICI Lombard Insurance Company and technical support, six vehicles stolen from outside Manipur were recovered from Churachandpur and Imphal West districts.
The recovered vehicles have been handed over to the concerned police stations after completing due legal procedures, while coordination with the originating states is underway to facilitate recovery formalities.
In a related development, a joint team of Manipur Police and CRPF Sector QAT, acting on a requisition from the Crime Branch of Delhi Police, arrested Md. Juma Khan (39) of Yairipok Bishnunaha. He is a wanted offender in multiple serious cases and has been identified as a key operative of the inter-state vehicle theft racket.
Police said efforts are continuing to trace and recover other stolen vehicles from different parts of the state as part of the ongoing operation.
