Agartala, April 17, 2026: The Tipra Motha Party has registered a sweeping victory in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections, reaffirming its dominance in the tribal council with a larger majority and wider winning margins.

Official sources informed, Tipra Motha candidates have already been declared victorious in 20 seats, while the party is leading comfortably in four more constituencies. In contrast, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured three seats and is ahead in one.

Reacting to the results, party founder and MDC Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma addressed party workers and supporters through social media, stating that the electoral battle was “not easy.” He alleged that the party had to withstand significant pressures and attempts to create divisions within its ranks. Despite these challenges, he credited the unwavering support and affection of the Tiprasa people for enabling the party to retain control of the Hills.

The victory has also drawn congratulatory messages from leaders across the Northeast. Conrad Sangma, Chief Minister of Meghalaya, extended his wishes on social media, congratulating Debbarma and the party for the landslide win. He remarked that the outcome strengthens the shared vision of “One North East” and hinted at greater developments ahead.

Echoing similar sentiments, James Sangma, senior leader of the National People’s Party (NPP) and former minister of Meghalaya, lauded the achievement. In his message, he described the result as a “great victory” for Debbarma, the party, and the Tiprasa community.

With this emphatic mandate, Tipra Motha once again consolidates its hold over the TTAADC, signaling continued political influence in Tripura’s tribal areas.
