Agartala, June 16, 2025: Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath on Sunday visited his native village Koroitala in Mohanpur, West Tripura, to continue an annual tradition that has now become a symbol of community warmth and connection — the distribution of fruits from his personal orchard.
Accompanied by his wife, local leaders and well-wishers, Minister Nath personally distributed baskets filled with mangoes, pineapples and seasonal fruits to villagers. The event saw enthusiastic participation from children, women and the elderly, many of whom gathered not just for the fruits, but for a heartfelt interaction with the senior leader.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Nath described the gesture as an emotional offering rather than a political act. “This is my family, my village. Sharing the fruits of my orchard is my way of staying connected with my roots,” he said.
He emphasized that the annual distribution reflects his gratitude to the land and people who have shaped his journey. The act, which has been repeated year after year, continues to evoke strong emotional responses from the local community, many of whom consider it a deeply personal celebration of unity and belonging.
Locals expressed their appreciation, noting that the minister’s presence and hands-on involvement demonstrate a rare and meaningful bond between a leader and his constituents.
