Agartala, July 29, 2025: Dibyangana Nath, a Class IX student of PM SHRI Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Belonia, has brought laurels to Tripura by securing the prestigious 2025 National Scholarship for Classical Music, awarded by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), New Delhi.

Hailing from Padmapur in Dharmanagar, Dibyangana comes from a family deeply rooted in music. She is the daughter of renowned tabla player Tarunmoy Nath and classical vocalist Minakshi Nath. Introduced to music at an early age, she began her training under her mother’s guidance and later honed her skills under Padma Maulishwar Aditya, one of Tripura’s eminent musicians. It was under his mentorship that she qualified for the national-level scholarship.

Dibyangana is actively associated with cultural institutions like Kalamandal in Dharmanagar, Shrutipuram, and Kala Bitan in Belonia. Her achievement has sparked pride not only in her hometown but across both North and South Tripura.

Family members, including her grandparents, along with cultural mentor Santosh Sutradhar, have played a pivotal role in encouraging her passion and dedication towards classical music. Her recognition is being seen as a promising sign for the growth of classical arts among the youth of the state.
