Agartala, April 30, 2026: Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha expressed satisfaction while participating in a virtual programme marking the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the second phase of the Jal Jeevan Mission at TIFT, Agartala.
Describing the development as a crucial milestone, Dr. Saha stated that the MoU represents a significant step toward strengthening water supply infrastructure in the state. He emphasized that the initiative will play a key role in ensuring safe and adequate drinking water for every citizen of Tripura.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to achieving universal access to safe drinking water. He stressed that timely implementation and effective governance remain central to fulfilling the vision of providing clean tap water to every household under the mission.
The Jal Jeevan Mission, launched by the Government of India, aims to ensure functional household tap connections in rural areas, and Tripura has been actively working toward meeting its targets under the scheme.
