Agartala, December 19, 2025: Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu on Friday undertook a day-long programme in Boxanagar to assess the overall situation in the area and to inspect stretches of the Indo–Bangladesh international border that remain unfenced. The Governor began his engagements around 10:30 a.m., participating in several events across the Boxanagar block.
The first programme was held at the Dayalpara Jhorajala School ground, organized by the block administration. The event was attended by Sepahijala District Magistrate Dr. Siddharth Jaiswal, Superintendent of Police Bijoy Debbarma, Boxanagar MLA Tafajjal Hossain, along with other dignitaries. The guests were welcomed with floral tributes before the proceedings began.
In his welcome address, District Magistrate Dr. Jaiswal highlighted the activities of various departments in the Sonamura subdivision and presented an overview of the border situation. The programme also featured two captivating tribal dance performances, which drew special attention from the audience. MLA Tafajjal Hossain spoke on local issues and ongoing development initiatives.
Addressing the gathering, Governor Nallu said his visit was aimed at understanding the ground realities of unfenced border areas and interacting directly with residents living along the frontier. He emphasized the importance of reviewing how effectively state and central government development schemes are reaching the people. The Governor instructed officials to ensure that government benefits are delivered promptly and accurately to intended beneficiaries.
Following the meeting, the Governor visited the border area near the Boxanagar BSF camp. He interacted with officers and jawans of the Border Security Force, seeking updates on matters related to border security and the challenges faced in the region.
